At avad3 I am one of the production technicians responsible for making sure the show is up and running without a hitch. I handle gear, supplies, and the tech that makes the show go on.
I had not always been in production. Growing up playing music, I naturally gravitated toward making music when I was helping in my church. However, my church needed a production tech to take over the front-of-house and technical duties so I opted in. My passion for music and excellence led to me really pressing into audio as my niche and having since developed the skills, passion, and experience I have for audio and production today. While I love sitting behind a mixing console, video, lighting, and graphics are other areas where I have dipped in and developed skills. Overall production has got to be one of the most fun fields a person can enter into.
I bring to the table the desire to see every event be the best it can possibly be. While I naturally want to make sure an event sounds good, I also care deeply about the customer being satisfied with how it looks, feels, and the overall experience with our team. This means doing as much preparation beforehand and feeling comfortable with the gear, layout, and plan where there is no guessing when we show up on-site. When I am not prepping for a show I am probably blasting music in the shop and keeping it light for the crew, however, when it is showtime it is time to crack down and put everything I’ve got into it.
